Thickner

Thickening involves separating a slurry or mixture of solids and liquids into a concentrated slurry with a high solids content and a clear overflow. The separation occurs due to the force of gravity, as the differing densities of the phases cause the solids and liquids to separate. Sedimentation thickening is utilized in both the product and tailings streams to recover water, which can then be recycled within the process.
